Connect Sanke L coupler to 5/8" BSP beer thread (shank / coupler)
How to join type L, 5/8 BSP ports and 5/8" BSP (7/8"-14 nut), and what stops it leaking.
These connect directly. Sanke L coupler mates with 5/8" BSP beer thread (shank / coupler) without an adapter.
The two ends
- End A
- Sanke L coupler (type L, 5/8 BSP ports)
- End B
- 5/8" BSP beer thread (shank / coupler) (5/8" BSP (7/8"-14 nut))
- A seals on
- flat washer on each threaded port
- B seals on
- flat nylon or fibre washer on the face of the thread
- Part needed
- none, direct fit
Once an L coupler is on the keg, its beer and gas ports are 5/8 BSP (7/8-14) like the other Sanke heads, so any 5/8 BSP tail, tap, tailpiece or push-in fitting screws straight on. Only the head choice is unusual, the line side is standard.
Fit gas line to the gas port and beer to the beer-out, not the reverse, or you push CO2 the wrong way through the keg. The 5/8 BSP ports look alike, so follow the port markings on the coupler.
