Connect Duotight 8mm push-in to 5/8" BSP beer thread (shank / coupler)
How to join 8 mm (5/16") OD and 5/8" BSP (7/8"-14 nut), and what stops it leaking.
Not a direct fit. Joining Duotight 8mm push-in to 5/8" BSP beer thread (shank / coupler) needs a Duotight 8mm to 5/8 BSP beer thread fitting.
The two ends
- End A
- Duotight 8mm push-in (8 mm (5/16") OD)
- End B
- 5/8" BSP beer thread (shank / coupler) (5/8" BSP (7/8"-14 nut))
- A seals on
- double EPDM O-ring on the tube outer wall
- B seals on
- flat nylon or fibre washer on the face of the thread
- Part needed
- Duotight 8mm to 5/8 BSP beer thread fitting
The part to buy
The 8mm version of the shank fitting does the same job as the 9.5mm one but for EVABarrier 8mm line: it screws onto a 5/8 BSP shank or coupler and presents an 8mm push-in on the tube side.
Match the fitting size to your tube, not to the shank. The shank is 5/8 BSP either way; buying the 9.5mm body when your line is 8mm leaves you unable to push the tube home.
