Connect Beer tailpiece (barb + hex) to 1/4" barb (liquid)

How to join 7/8"-14 nut, 1/4" or 3/16" barb and 1/4" hose barb, and what stops it leaking.

These connect directly. Beer tailpiece (barb + hex) mates with 1/4" barb (liquid) without an adapter.

The two ends

End B
1/4" barb (liquid) (1/4" hose barb)
A seals on
flat washer against the shank end under the beer nut; barb under a worm clamp on the hose
B seals on
barb ridges plus a worm clamp on the hose
Part needed
none, direct fit

A beer tailpiece already ends in a 1/4 or 3/16 barb, so vinyl beer line pushes straight on under a worm clamp. The tailpiece is simply the piece that turns a 7/8-14 shank thread into a hose barb.

Match line ID to the barb, 3/16 or 1/4, and clamp it. The barb is the same clamp-sealed join as anywhere else on the liquid side, and an unclamped barb blows off the moment the keg is under pressure.
