Connect KeyKeg (DSI) coupler to 5/8" BSP beer thread (shank / coupler)
How to join KeyKeg / DSI head and 5/8" BSP (7/8"-14 nut), and what stops it leaking.
These connect directly. KeyKeg (DSI) coupler mates with 5/8" BSP beer thread (shank / coupler) without an adapter.
The two ends
- End A
- KeyKeg (DSI) coupler (KeyKeg / DSI head)
- End B
- 5/8" BSP beer thread (shank / coupler) (5/8" BSP (7/8"-14 nut))
- A seals on
- flat washer on each threaded dispense port
- B seals on
- flat nylon or fibre washer on the face of the thread
- Part needed
- none, direct fit
Once a KeyKeg is coupled, its dispense ports are the familiar 5/8 BSP (7/8-14) beer thread, so any 5/8 BSP tail, tap, tailpiece or push-in fitting screws straight on. The KeyKeg difference is only at the keg valve, not on the line side.
Pick the coupler by the keg valve, a KeyKeg or DSI head, then connect line by the 5/8 BSP thread like any other coupler. The gas and beer ports are the same thread, so fit gas to the gas port and beer to the beer-out, or you push gas the wrong way.
