Connect G / U coupler thread adapter to US beer nut (hex tailpiece nut)
How to join 13/16"-14 to 7/8"-14 and 7/8"-14 (1" hex), and what stops it leaking.
These connect directly. G / U coupler thread adapter mates with US beer nut (hex tailpiece nut) without an adapter.
The two ends
- End A
- G / U coupler thread adapter (13/16"-14 to 7/8"-14)
- End B
- US beer nut (hex tailpiece nut) (7/8"-14 (1" hex))
- A seals on
- flat washer on each threaded face
- B seals on
- compresses a rubber washer between the tailpiece and the shank end
- Part needed
- none, direct fit
Where a G or U coupler carries a 1/2 BSP (13/16-14) beer port instead of the usual 5/8 BSP, a 13/16-14 to 7/8-14 thread adapter converts it up so a standard beer nut and tailpiece thread on. The adapter seals on a washer at each face.
The G and U heads are the common exception to the 5/8 BSP rule, so check the port before buying tailpieces. A standard 7/8-14 beer nut will not start on a 13/16-14 port; the adapter is what lets standard hardware fit these two coupler types.
