Connect Sanke D coupler (American Sankey) to US beer nut (hex tailpiece nut)
How to join type D, G5/8 ports and 7/8"-14 (1" hex), and what stops it leaking.
These connect directly. Sanke D coupler (American Sankey) mates with US beer nut (hex tailpiece nut) without an adapter.
The two ends
- End A
- Sanke D coupler (American Sankey) (type D, G5/8 ports)
- End B
- US beer nut (hex tailpiece nut) (7/8"-14 (1" hex))
- A seals on
- flat washer on each threaded port; barbs seal under a worm clamp
- B seals on
- compresses a rubber washer between the tailpiece and the shank end
- Part needed
- none, direct fit
A Sanke D coupler beer-out port is 7/8-14 (5/8 BSP), so a US beer nut and tailpiece thread straight on, exactly as they would on the back of a shank. This is how you put vinyl beer line on a commercial keg with standard US hardware.
The coupler beer port and a shank share the 7/8-14 thread, so the same beer nut fits both. The washer seals it; keep the coupler's own washer in place and do not tape the beer thread.
