Connect Sanke L coupler to Sanke D coupler (American Sankey)
How to join type L, 5/8 BSP ports and type D, G5/8 ports, and what stops it leaking.
Not compatible. Sanke L coupler and Sanke D coupler (American Sankey) do not share a mating thread, so there is no adapter between them; fit the part that matches your hardware.
The two ends
- End A
- Sanke L coupler (type L, 5/8 BSP ports)
- End B
- Sanke D coupler (American Sankey) (type D, G5/8 ports)
- A seals on
- flat washer on each threaded port
- B seals on
- flat washer on each threaded port; barbs seal under a worm clamp
- Part needed
- matched replacement, no adapter exists
The part to buy
A Sanke L coupler and a Sanke D coupler engage different keg valves, so an L coupler will not tap a D keg or the reverse. There is no adapter between the heads; you fit the coupler that matches the keg's probe and valve.
The line side is the same 5/8 BSP on both, which hides the difference at the keg valve. Identify the keg by brand and importer, then choose the L, D, S, A, G, M or U head to match before connecting line the usual way.
