Used on: mini kegs, portable ball-lock chargers and single-serve dispensers where a full cylinder is overkill.
The 16 gram threaded cartridge is 3/8-24 UNF, a different thread from the 74 gram 5/8-24 UNF cartridge and from any refillable cylinder outlet. A 16g charger holder will not accept a 74g cartridge or the reverse, and neither threads onto a CGA-320 regulator without a dedicated cartridge holder.
Flare fittings seal on the 45 degree flare face and must never be taped. Push-in fittings seal on an O-ring against the tube wall and need the tube cut square. Barbs seal under a worm clamp. Getting the sealing method right matters more than the thread label, because most homebrew leaks are a taped flare or an unclamped barb.
