Connect Duotight 6.5mm push-in to Duotight 9.5mm push-in
How to join 6.5 mm (1/4") OD and 9.5 mm (3/8") OD, and what stops it leaking.
Not a direct fit. Joining Duotight 6.5mm push-in to Duotight 9.5mm push-in needs a Duotight 6.5mm to 9.5mm reducer.
The two ends
- End A
- Duotight 6.5mm push-in (6.5 mm (1/4") OD)
- End B
- Duotight 9.5mm push-in (9.5 mm (3/8") OD)
- A seals on
- double EPDM O-ring on the tube outer wall
- B seals on
- double EPDM O-ring on the tube outer wall
- Part needed
- Duotight 6.5mm to 9.5mm reducer
The part to buy
To step the thin 6.5mm line straight up to the large 9.5mm size, a 6.5mm to 9.5mm reducer push-fits on both ends. This skips the middle 8mm size when you want to join a compact gas jumper to a 3/8 beer run.
Reducers change tube size, not sealing method. Both ends still seal on the tube O-rings, so cut each tube square and to length. A tube cut at an angle is the usual reason a reduced joint weeps.
