Connect Duotight 9.5mm push-in to John Guest 3/8" push-fit
How to join 9.5 mm (3/8") OD and 3/8" (9.5 mm) OD, and what stops it leaking.
Not a direct fit. Joining Duotight 9.5mm push-in to John Guest 3/8" push-fit needs a 3/8 straight joiner (Duotight 9.5mm or John Guest 3/8).
The two ends
- End A
- Duotight 9.5mm push-in (9.5 mm (3/8") OD)
- End B
- John Guest 3/8" push-fit (3/8" (9.5 mm) OD)
- A seals on
- double EPDM O-ring on the tube outer wall
- B seals on
- single O-ring plus stainless collet grab-ring
- Part needed
- 3/8 straight joiner (Duotight 9.5mm or John Guest 3/8)
The part to buy
Duotight 9.5mm and John Guest 3/8 both take nominally 3/8 (9.53mm) tube, so either fitting grips either tube and the O-ring seals across both. Where you cross from one system to the other, a straight 3/8 joiner keeps the run clean.
The two are close but specified in different units, 9.5mm versus 9.53mm. On a short jumper it is nothing; on a long warm beer run standardise on one system rather than mixing fittings joint after joint.
