A stout faucet mounts on the same 7/8-14 shank nose as any other faucet, so it needs no special shank. Its faucet coupling nut draws it onto the shank and its internal restrictor plate does the nitro work behind the spout.
The shank and thread are ordinary; the restrictor plate and a beer-gas source are what make the pour a nitro pour. Do not run straight CO2 into a nitro keg behind a stout faucet, or the head will not build the way it should.
