Connect Cornelius corny keg post to Firestone / Spartanburg corny keg post
How to join 19/32"-18 UNF and 9/16"-18 UNF, and what stops it leaking.
Not compatible. Cornelius corny keg post and Firestone / Spartanburg corny keg post do not share a mating thread, so there is no adapter between them; fit the part that matches your hardware.
The two ends
- End A
- Cornelius corny keg post (19/32"-18 UNF)
- End B
- Firestone / Spartanburg corny keg post (9/16"-18 UNF)
- A seals on
- poppet inside the post; the post base O-ring seals to the keg lid
- B seals on

- Part needed
- matched replacement, no adapter exists
The part to buy
Cornelius posts are 19/32-18 UNF into the lid and Firestone or Spartanburg posts are 9/16-18 UNF. The threads are different, so a Cornelius post will not screw into a Firestone lid or the reverse. There is no adapter; you fit the post that matches the keg body.
The ball-lock disconnect fits either post from the outside, which fools people into thinking the posts are interchangeable. They are not at the lid thread. Identify the keg maker before ordering a replacement post or poppet.
