Connect MFL male flare (1/4") to 5/16" barb (gas)
How to join 1/4" MFL (7/16"-20 UNF) and 5/16" hose barb, and what stops it leaking.
These connect directly. MFL male flare (1/4") mates with 5/16" barb (gas) without an adapter.
The two ends

- MFL male flare (1/4") (1/4" MFL (7/16"-20 UNF))

A 1/4 MFL barb swivel with a 5/16 barb takes a flare gas outlet, on a regulator or a gas disconnect, onto 5/16 CO2 line. The MFL flare seals on its 45 degree face and the 5/16 barb takes gas line under a worm clamp.
The gas barb is 5/16 and the liquid barb is 1/4 on purpose. Fit 5/16 line here. Forcing 1/4 gas line onto a 5/16 barb, or the reverse, gives a joint that creeps and leaks CO2 slowly.
