Connect Sanke A coupler (German slider) to Sanke G coupler (Grundy)
How to join type A, German slider and type G, Grundy, and what stops it leaking.
Not compatible. Sanke A coupler (German slider) and Sanke G coupler (Grundy) do not share a mating thread, so there is no adapter between them; fit the part that matches your hardware.
The two ends
- End A
- Sanke A coupler (German slider) (type A, German slider)
- End B
- Sanke G coupler (Grundy) (type G, Grundy)
- A seals on
- flat washer on each threaded port
- B seals on
- flat washer on each threaded port
- Part needed
- matched replacement, no adapter exists
The part to buy
The A coupler taps most German kegs (Paulaner, Spaten, Bitburger, Hoegaarden) and the G coupler taps a set of British and select European brands (Fuller's, Grolsch, Bass, Anchor IPA). Their probes differ, so the A and G heads are not interchangeable at the keg.
Brand-to-system mapping shifts by importer and region, so confirm with the distributor rather than assuming a German name means the A system. The dispense side is 5/8 BSP on both, so only the head choice differs, the line connects the same way.
