10mm is a metric John Guest size that sits between the 3/8 (9.53mm) and 1/2 imperial sizes. It does not interchange with either; a 10mm collet is sized for 10mm OD tube. Confirm your tube is genuinely 10mm before buying, because 3/8 tube will not seat properly in it.

Flare fittings seal on the 45 degree flare face and must never be taped. Push-in fittings seal on an O-ring against the tube wall and need the tube cut square. Barbs seal under a worm clamp. Getting the sealing method right matters more than the thread label, because most homebrew leaks are a taped flare or an unclamped barb.
